FUTURE – Sustainable Development and the Society of the Future
The mission of the FUTURE team is to conduct research concerning contemporary social, economic and technological changes within a broad context created by challenges of sustainable development. Projects conducted within the FUTURE Group include research on corporate social responsibility, responsible employee behaviour, sustainable consumption and sustainable consumer behaviour, behavioural determinants of economic attitudes of young adults, modelling economic growth, sustainable road transport, digital economy and digitization of organizations.

- the process of implementing payment innovations, including contactless cards and cryptocurrencies;

- payment systems for e-commerce and m-commerce versus Omni-channeling in electronic banking.
Scientific achievements:
- laureate of the Prof. Remigiusz Kaszubski Prize, established by the Management Board of the Polish Bank Association, in the category of scientific activity for research on the Polish payment system;
- director of the NCU Center for Economy and Digital Finance;
- manager of the grant of the National Science Center Sonata Bis no. 2017/26 / E / HS4 / 00858 entitled “The impact of the development of FinTech and legal regulations on innovations in the payment services market of the European Union: strategies of the financial sector and consumer needs”;
- author of 80 publications in the field of digital finance and payment system.

Scientific achievements:
- He was awarded the prestigious PhD. Scholarship (Cycle XXXI) by the Italian Ministry of Education, enabling him to obtain his PhD in Quantitative Methods for Economic Policy at the Department of Economics and Law of the University of Macerata, Italy (November 2015-September 2019).
- His doctoral dissertation was based on quantitative techniques like Applied Econometrics, Multi-Sectoral Input-Output Modelling, Financial Social Accounting Matrix, and Computable General Equilibrium Modelling.
- He has experience in Data Analysis; Statistical Analysis and 3.5 years of teaching and supervising expertise (from November 2011 till June 2015) to Bachelor and Master level students. Dr Atif taught courses in Econometrics, Microeconomics Theory, Macroeconomics Theory, Managerial Economics, International Economics, Financial Institutions, and Markets.
- He also supervised the thesis of two Master’s level students based on Applied Macroeconomics and Energy Economics.
- Dr Atif is the co-author of two ISI/Scopus indexed articles in the leading journal Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews (IF=12.11). His research papers have been cited over 58 times (both h-index and i10-index with four citations).
- Dr Atif has strong computing skills and good command of the software’s and computing languages for empirical analysis (i.e.; Advance Office (2016); STATA-16; SPSS-20; Microfit-5.5; GAMS; Python; EViews-11; GRETL; R Studio; MAPLE; MATLAB (2019a); PC-GIVE; Expertise to handle the Micro Level Data and their coding; have the experience to handle the National Accounts.
