13th Experimental Archaeology Conference #EAC13
W dniach 1-3 maja 2023 roku dr hab. Grzegorz Osipowicz, prof. UMK, member of our PAST team, has organised the 13th Experimental Archaeology Conference on 1-3.05.2023 in Toruń!
The Conference took place both here in Toruń and online. It was the biggest and most important experimental archeology event in the last 2 years, hosting 72 oral presentations and 12 posters. The participants represented numerous scientific institutions and museums from all around the world, including countries such as Denmark, UK, Spain, Germany, Italy, Greece, France, Belgium, Latwia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Romania, Georgia, Armenia, India, China, Thailand, USA, Canada, Brasil and Argentina. The even was also streamed on Youtube.
We had 61 conference active participants in Toruń and over 110 remotely. Thanks to the online streaming some of the presentations were being listened by about 500 people at the same time, while around 2500 people participated in the conference in total. The online relation from the conference on Youtube has been viewed almost 8800 times.
The conference had the honoray patronage of the Kujavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship’s marshal Piotr Całbecki and it was co-financed by the president of Torun Michał Zalewski, among others
The conference was also co-financed by the Polish-American Freedom Foundation and York University “EXARC-YEAR Centre: Support Ukraine Network (SUN)” (https://exarc.net/ukrainesupport), which allowed the scientists from Ukraine to take part in it
